Streets cleared as the procession begins,
Military masquerade of soldiers and kings,
Masses of people intrigued and enthralled,
Awaiting the centerpiece hangman to be called,
Public execution monarchy declared,
Poetic justice a death to be shared,
Lever released rope that takes the strain,
Mans final breath engulfed by the pain.

Rulers of lives,
Horrors and lies,
Governments and Kings,
Insanity Begins.
Governments of Power,
A disease that devours,
Death and Poverty,
In a land of prosperity.

Morning awakens a hangover so cold,
Tabloids tell of an injustice so bold,
Hierarchy’s celebration all ended in vain,
For the innocent man they have slain,
Words and excuses so easy to gain,
For the poor man’s life ended in pain,
They pass the blame, face the shame,
Too many eyes have seen their game,
Death by the rope, gas or the chair,
What chance of hope, entrapped in the their lair,
Dead man’s reprieve, so easy to grieve,
Tears of regret so hard to believe.

Political statement so passionate and intense,
A government solution that doesn’t make sense,
Mistakes we made we wouldn’t deceive,
But to take a man’s life is too much to believe,
Death sentences agreed to be aborted,
No more men to be hung, drawn or quartered,
So the victim becomes another statistic on a list,
But as a human being he’ll cease to exist.

Rulers of lives,
Horrors and lies,
Governments and Kings,
Insanity Begins.
Death Games are played,
Highest stakes paid,
Our lives at stake,
For heaven’s sake.

Rulers of lies,
Innocence must die,
Government and Kings,
No Solution can death bring.
